Applications and services such as conferencing, mobility, and video have significant and varying performance and availability requirements. Cerium360° is a purpose-built software suite of tools that has its foundation in a very robust UCMP tool (Unified Communication Management Platform). At Cerium, we have developed our own enhancements to the UCMP tool, to maximize our support delivery model.

Superior Diagnostics and Management
Integral to Cerium360° is a unified communications diagnostics (UCD) module, which provides real-time visibility into the overall quality and performance of the user experience, by uniquely monitoring session content and corresponding network topology. The UCD monitors and collects comprehensive data related to packet loss, jitter, delay, echo, signal-to-noise ratios, MOS, and R-factor, for example, and provides complete IP network information correlation and comprehensive insight for fast resolution, a lower total cost of ownership, and a superior end-user experience.
This correlation allows a help desk agent to instantly associate specific user-reported complaints to events in any part of the network. Alerts and notification targets are configurable through interactive dashboards. Visualization of historical trends allows tracking, management, and decision making to improve the user’s experience and anticipate operational requirements such as capacity planning.
Additional Benefits for Skype for Business
Cerium’s new diagnostic toolset provides additional benefits for Microsoft Skype for Business specific environments. Skype-based services maintain a high level of security in how communication sessions are established. Since network traffic originating from a Skype-based environment is natively encrypted, it is difficult to gain visibility into what may be causing problems for an organization, since this traffic cannot be captured for analysis during transit. This is where Cerium360° brings great value. Through leveraging the Skype Software Defined Networking (SDN) API, Cerium is able to do what others cannot — analyze native Skype signaling and media traffic as it happens! This gives us the ability to view issues and identify areas in need of remediation, including areas that cause some of the more commonly encountered issues of today’s UC environments, such as one-way audio, jitter, delay, echo, bad MOS, and dropped calls. Our ability to analyze signaling also extends to UC platforms outside of Skype such as Avaya and Cisco-based environments, or even a combination of systems, which many organizations employ.
